Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is with immense pride and genuine enthusiasm that I welcome you to the Asia-Pacific Society of Thyroid Surgery (APTS) Symposium 2027 in Milan. Hosting the APTS Symposium in Europe for the very first time is both an extraordinary honor and a remarkable milestone, and I am delighted to invite you to join us in Italy from 1–3 April 2027 for what promises to be an exceptional scientific and cultural experience.

Medicine has always advanced through the exchange of knowledge across borders. Today, more than ever, innovation in thyroid and parathyroid surgery depends on international collaboration, multidisciplinary dialogue, and the willingness to learn from one another. Bringing together experts from Asia, the Americas, Europe, and the rest of the world creates a unique opportunity not only to share scientific achievements, but also to build enduring professional relationships and friendships that will shape the future of our specialty.

The scientific program has been designed to reflect the rapid transformation of thyroid and parathyroid surgery. From robotic and remote-access techniques to thermal ablation, artificial intelligence, molecular diagnostics, precision medicine, and novel strategies for functional preservation, our field is evolving at an unprecedented pace. Equally important, this Symposium will provide a forum where established leaders and young colleagues alike can openly discuss challenges, exchange experiences, and inspire new ideas that ultimately improve the care of our patients.

This historic meeting has become a reality thanks to the remarkable vision and steadfast commitment of Professor Kyung Tae, Director of the Asia-Pacific Society of Thyroid Surgery. His conviction that APTS should expand its horizons and establish meaningful scientific partnerships beyond the Asia-Pacific region has opened an exciting new chapter in the Society’s history. His confidence in our team, his encouragement throughout the planning process, and his dedication to fostering global collaboration have made it possible for Milan to become the first European host of an APTS Symposium. For this, I extend my deepest gratitude and admiration.

Milan has long been a crossroads of culture, creativity, and innovation. I hope that, alongside an outstanding scientific program, you will enjoy the city’s rich history, architecture, cuisine, and hospitality. It is our sincere wish that every participant leaves Italy not only with new scientific knowledge, but also with new collaborations, lasting friendships, and unforgettable memories.
